Online Therapy to help you stay calm, collected, and connected in conflict across Florida

Conflict leaves you feeling overwhelmed, shut down, or reactive…

Most of the people who find their way here are thoughtful, emotionally aware, and trying hard to do relationships well. They’ve read the books. They know what should help. And yet, when emotions rise, everything still feels harder than it should. Maybe conflict leaves you flooded or shut down. Maybe you keep the peace until resentment builds. Maybe you replay conversations long after they’re over, wondering why something small turned into distance. This isn’t because you’re failing. It’s because conflict activates parts of us that don’t respond to logic or insight alone.

Why traditional communication advice often fails — and what works instead

Most therapy focuses on what to say.
My work focuses on what happens inside you when you try to say it.

When your nervous system is overwhelmed:

Clarity Disappears

Reactivity Takes Over

Connection feels out of reach — even when you care deeply

Until this is understood and worked with directly, no communication tool will fully land.

That’s where my approach is different.

Online therapy for conflict & communication in Florida

I work with adults and couples who want more than insight. They want capacity — the ability to stay grounded, present, and intentional when conversations get hard. In our work together, we slow things down. We make sense of emotional patterns without blame. We build regulation before reaction. And we practice communication in a way that feels real, usable, and sustainable. This isn’t about becoming perfectly calm. It’s about staying connected to yourself so you don’t lose your footing — or each other — when emotions run high.

What makes Kristin's approach different:

My style is steady and honest — what I often describe as carefrontational. I name patterns clearly without shaming, offer accountability without criticism, and create emotional safety without avoiding hard truths. Clients often tell me they feel calmer just being in the room — not because conflict disappears, but because it finally feels manageable. Over time, many notice less walking on eggshells, fewer spirals after hard conversations, more confidence speaking honestly, and greater ease repairing after conflict.

Kristin Crumbley — credentials, training & background

I’m Kristin Crumbley, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), and the founder of Collected Connections Counseling & Consulting.

I specialize in relationship conflict, emotional regulation, and communication for adults and couples across Florida. My background includes training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and mediation, which allows me to work with both the emotional and practical sides of conflict.

Rather than focusing only on insight, I help clients interrupt unhelpful patterns in real time — building steadiness, clarity, and connection that extends beyond the therapy room.

Why I Do This Work

I’ve seen how easily capable, caring people can get stuck in cycles they don’t fully understand. Most conflict isn’t about a lack of love or effort — it’s about nervous systems doing their best to protect, often at the cost of connection.

I believe therapy should help you trust yourself more, not less.
It should give you language that fits.
And it should help you feel more at home in yourself — even during disagreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I work best with adults and couples who are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated to understand themselves more deeply — even when that feels uncomfortable. Many of my clients care deeply about their relationships but feel overwhelmed by conflict, emotional reactivity, or recurring patterns they can’t seem to shift on their own.

  • Yes. I work with couples across the conflict spectrum, from frequent arguments to emotional distance and avoidance. Often, both patterns stem from the same underlying challenge: difficulty staying regulated and connected when emotions rise. Our work focuses on helping you understand and interrupt these patterns in real time.

  • While insight is important, it’s not always enough. My work focuses on what happens in the moment — especially during emotionally charged interactions. I help clients understand their nervous system responses, practice regulation, and develop communication skills that hold up under pressure, not just in theory.
